Give them an “i” for a headline, matey

Kelly sends this from Salina, where there is apparently a shortage of i’s.

I blame pirates, who seem to have stocked up on i’s to spell “pirates” and left only “arlines,” matey.

One could ask what pirates would be doing in the middle of Kansas.

Then again, Kelly asked what the editors were doing when the “i” disappeared from “airlines.”

I don’t know about the editors.

As for the pirates, I’ll let them answer for themselves. After all, these guys know the difference between “lay” and “lie.” What more could you ask for in a pirate?
